Journey through the Portal to Receive

I am guided to an old world forest, incredibly mystical, it reminds me of the first journey I ever took to meet Dionys, my Dragon Spirit Guide. The many shades of green of the forest - dark, vibrant, lush, alive,are breathing me in. We are standing near the most incredible ancient grandmother tree that reaches up into the skies. Her girth is massive. She has witnessed much in her life, I can feel her deep wisdom begin to penetrate me.

With my hands on my heart, I stand tall – like her, breathing deeply in. The women surround me in circle. I slowly turn around and take in each woman’s face that stands within the circle. Connecting with their eyes, one by one. I feel their honour and I reflect that honour back to them, the honour I feel for the expression of who they are, their essence, their support that they have given me and hopefully they have felt back from me. It has been uncomfortable for me to receive during my life, I guess it stems from growing up in a large family with not as much time to receive what you need, or other’s needs being more important than your own. Over time I forgot what my needs were. I learnt to put the needs of others first, particularly when it was demonstrated to me from such a young age. Yet, as I stand here, I feel so held, and so loved that I begin to feel an opening occur.

I stand here in the silence by this magnificent ancient tree, drinking in that feeling. Out of the corner of my eye something flutters by. A brilliant blue butterfly dancing through the forest. My eyes follow it as it moves toward me landing on my arm. I don’t dare move. I am totally mesmerised. Then another appears and lands on my other arm. Before long there are what seems like hundreds of butterflies dancing and landing all over me until I am totally covered in their beauty. Feeling touched by their softness, I receive their most incredible gift. After some time my eyes stop focusing on them and begin to focus on the other women around me, I see every other woman covered in these beautiful creatures too.

We stand here in gratitude together for many minutes in this open state of receiving this love and this honouring.
