Our heat/cold packs are filled with whole organic flaxseeds, organic herbs and essential oil.

Flaxseeds provide a gentle, moist heat which is both healing and comforting.  They are actually flower seeds rather than a grain, which means they contain 30-40% oil, which remains in the seed to be rewarmed each time you need to heat the pack.  They also stay warmer for longer and retain their heat over a longer period of time when other grains lose their ability.  They never smell even when heated again and again.

As a cold pack, you can chill in the freezer - great as a support with fevers and headaches or to just keep you cool.

Ingredients:  Organic Flaxseed, Organic Lavender Flowers, Organic Lavender Essential Oil. 100% Cotton Fabric. 

Directions for heating in oven or microwave:

Oven:  Heat oven to 175 degrees C.  Place heat pack in pan, put a small oven proof bowl of water on the same pan.  When oven heated to temperature, turn off and then place oven tray with heat pack and bowl of water in oven.  Takes about 20 minutes, but put the timer on and check after 10. You can heat on a lower temperature and keep checking but I find this a much safer method, in case you forget you have it in the oven.

Microwave:  Warm in microwave for 45 seconds - 1 minute.  Give the bag a shake and feel if warm enough, give it another 20 to 30 seconds if not. Flaxseed retains half its heat after an hour or more under covers and can be warmed again and again.
