Chakras are spinning vortexes of energy that cannot be seen with the human eye but can be sensed and felt intuitively.  In Sanskrit, chakra means wheel or disk.  We have seven major wheels of energy that run throughout the body, these run from the base of the spine up to the crown of the head and back.  They can both receive and radiate energy.  Our emotions, thoughts, and physical health all impact the ability of our chakras to filter energy.  Sometimes chakras can become blocked and stop the flow of energy to different parts of the body.

This set has been created to support you when any of these energy centres is out of balance.  Sometimes you will notice that one of your chakras is not functioning as it should.   There are a number of ways to unblock the chakra.  One way that I like to do this is by applying some oil on to the area of the body that relates to that chakra and meditating on the area that is out of balance.

There are meditations for each chakra and a bonus whole body chakra alignment meditation.   These are created by my oldest and dearest friend, my sister - Danielle Clarke - of Heart Radiance, life coach and a wonderful meditation teacher with an incredibly soothing voice. We have produced some cards that go with the chakra oils.  These contain affirmations / mantras.    The cards should fit into your wallet.  When I'm working on a chakra, I like to take the card with me and if I have a minute, I quietly recite one of the mantras in my mind.   Repeating these throughout the day and week helps to create new thought patterns. There are seven bija mantras or seed mantras - that can be chanted during meditation - each are associated with our seven major chakras.  The sound and vibration when chanting these helps in the rebalancing process. These are: - 

• LAM - Base Chakra
• VAM - Sacral Chakra
• RAM - Solar Plexus Chakra
• YAM - Heart Chakra
• HAM - Throat Chakra
• AUM - Third Eye Chakra
• OM   - Crown Chakra

If you know which chakra is out of alignment you can focus on that chakra and the area of the body it is located in while chanting the seed mantra associated with it.   Otherwise, you can chant them in sequence starting at the base chakra and moving up to finish at the crown.  Chanting repetitively can help you access a meditative state.
