The Sanskrit word for the Sacral Chakra is Svadhishthana. Sva means Self and adhishthana means dwelling place, together they mean dwelling place of the self. The Sacral Chakra is associated with the water element - flowing, letting go, power. We need to regulate water or it can be overpowering.
We have added the resiny and woody essential oils of Elemi, Benzoin and Sandalwood
A combination of practices helps to unblock / balance the chakra. Meditating is one way that I know personally is very effective. When meditating, I apply some of the chakra oil on the base of my spine before I begin. I have attached a meditation that can be downloaded which accompanies the oil to balance and unblock this chakra.
Alternatively, the oil can be used in combination with the many mantras that can be used to balance and unblock this chakra and we have put some of these on the card that goes with this oil. It fits easily into a wallet. When you are working on a chakra, take the card with you and quietly recite some of them in your mind when you have some time. Repeating these throughout the day and week creates new thought patterns.
Sound and vibrations play an essential role in healing the chakras. The mantra or Bija Seed Mantra associated with the Svadhishthana Chakra is “VAM”. Chanting this mantra activates the water element within, increasing creativity and channelling sexual energy as well as invoking proper nourishment and protection of the body.
Being associated with the water element, spend time in the water - this will be healing and balancing for this chakra. Just sitting by the water, or swimming in the sea, lake, river, soaking in the bath or taking a shower are also supportive.
